Atherton Hockey will empower players to dream bigger and play bolder by customizing our process to allow every player to know they have someone who is solely focused on their personal success.

The mission of our on-ice training at Atherton Hockey is to Empower players to become courageous, creative and confident. Our training is designed to give players ownership of their performance by giving them the necessary skills to solve the highly complex problems that they will face in each and every game.

Because each player is a complex system operating within another complex system that is the game, we believe that “skill” is not simply a set of tools that players can develop outside of a game-like environment and then expect them to transfer into a game.  It is our belief that “skill” is the ability to apply those tools in an ever-changing environment to effectively and efficiently find solutions.

Since we believe that “skill” can only be developed inside of an environment that looks, feels and behaves like the game, that is how we train.  We re-create the most critical moments of the game over and over in training and allow players to find their own unique solutions and offer our guidance.  This allows players to take what they learn with us directly into their next competition.
